On April 9th, 2012, a series of strange glowing objects appeared in the night sky over St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad Oblast in Russia. Multiple witnesses reported seeing unusual lights moving, hovering, disappearing and reappearing, with several people capturing the phenomenon on video. What makes this case particularly interesting is the number of reports and recordings made that night. Contemporary reports later linked the lights to military exercises over the Ladoga training range but this was quickly dismissed.
