As a seasoned ocean scientist of over three decades, I find it perplexing that more people aren't intellectually curious about the profound events occurring in our oceans—the story of the century. In discussions with Admiral Tim Gallaudet, I emphasized the need for increased engagement from our ocean science and scientific communities to better understand and navigate these phenomena. By fostering a collective effort in studying these events, we can gain insights to interact with and move forward effectively in the face of these significant occurrences.
