Is the universe a cold, dead machine? I believed that for most of my life. This is chapter one of my book, Our Fractal Universe, and I'm reading it to you.
Mendeleev left gaps in his table in 1869 and trusted the pattern. Nature filled every one. I think we might be standing where he stood. A proton and a star. A tiny worm and the Milky Way. A human and the Virgo Supercluster. Same interval, about 24 orders of magnitude. It's a hypothesis. But once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it.

Chris Lehto is a former F-16 pilot with 18 years of experience in the Air Force. He managed multi-million dollar simulator contracts, was an Electronic Attack SME for the Aggressors (OPFOR), and commanded the US Detachment at TLP for NATO Fighter Pilot Training.
