Last walk I asked if you'd still go to work if you got paid anyway. Most of you said no. So if AI takes all the jobs, why are we so scared?
I think it's the paycheck, not the job. In 1900, 41% of Americans worked on farms. Now it's under 2% and we all still eat. This time it's faster and it hits desk jobs first. So on this walk with Lemon I get into where the money comes from when the machines do the work. Taxes and Social Security run on wages. Alaska has paid every resident an oil dividend since 1982. And I think the answer is we all have to own the machines.
Then the hard part. Only 20% of workers say they're engaged at work. So where do you get meaning when you don't need the job? For me it took five or six years after I retired.
I talk about what I own. That's my story, not financial advice.
Where I got it wrong, the fix is on screen with a *. The full list is in the pinned comment. Stay for the bloopers. Lemon had her own plans.
What would you do if you never had to work for money? Tell me in the comments.
