I wanted to personally welcome you to a place where you'll find UFO & Paranormal YouTube videos.
Who are you?
I am 30+ Years Young, based in the United Kingdom, have a long standing online business of over 20 years, Loving family, and also work for a large live streaming platform.
What's the point of this site?
I have been interested in UFO's for several years, and always found YouTube to be a great source of content / UFO News. However, over the past 6 months, I have noticed discovering new UFO related content (even from those I subscribe to) seems to take more of my time than actually watching such content.
I work Monday-Friday, and have YouTube on in the background. Over the weekend, a number of Videos would get uploaded and come Monday morning - I would find myself frustrated trying to 'catch up'.
I made the first version of UFO Slice in a few days to help me keep up to date with the UFO & Paranormal channels that I wanted to watch. The new "internal" site allowed me to keep up to date with all the channels I wanted to watch, without the need to scrub through hundreds of different "recommended" videos.
The site itself self updates every 30 minutes or so and can actually track live premiers, live streams, new videos etc.
Why did you make this website public?
I often chat about the videos I watch with my family, friends and colleagues, many of them watch the same channels I do - however one thing I was finding apparent was comments such as "oh, i've not seen that one, where is it?" (sound familiar?)
So I shared my little web app with them and they pushed me to launch this with an account system so they could also keep track of what videos were new, what they'd watched etc.
UFO Slice was born!
Can't you just use YouTube's subscriptions?
YouTube subscriptions are great, but I found that even when I created a brand new YouTube profile "just" for UFO videos, I would be subjected to random videos either completely unrelated to UFO's, or from a mainstream media outlet - which I found to be very annoying.
How long did this site take you to make?
I would say around a week to 10 days, it's still very fresh and there are lost of things that don't work quite right (mobile viewing), however I wanted to get something live primarily for my friends and others who have interest in the "real" stories, rather than scaremongering from the main stream media.
Why do I need to sign in?
UFO Slice has a cool couple of features that allow you to keep track of the videos you've watched. This is done by marking videos as watched.
Take my example of keeping up to date with new videos above. I would have to scroll through loads of different videos just to try and identify UFO content that were uploaded over the weekend.
With UFO Slice, I just click "New Videos" and hey presto.... all the videos that I haven't watched yet are ready and waiting for me ?
This can only be achieved by having an account system, which I thought for ease of use would be a Google /YouTube Account (I am 99% most of us have them).
The more I've thought about UFO Slice, the more features I want to add:
- UFO Chat Rooms
- UFO Forum
- Sightings
- Discussions
- Crop Circles
- and more...
How do the channels selected benefit from this site?
The initial build of UFO Slice was all about me and how it could improve my viewing experience, however the more I've worked on the site (about a week) the more i've found myself excited at how much this could benefit UFO Content Creators - which is why I've added a section "Add Channel".
For every channel selected to be on UFO Slice, each will have their own page (just like you a YouTube channel) which shows:
- Channel Banner
- Links to Social Media
- Link to their YouTube Channel
A website dedicated to UFO Videos will attract UFO Enthusiasts from all over the world, and help them discover the content creators that spend countless hours producing, editing, and uploading the videos we all love to watch.
For all videos uploaded, UFO Slice will automatically show them on the site, with links straight back to the channel that uploaded them ?.
